A seasoned teaching artist at the museum, Ileana returns this fall with two ten-week courses. In the spirit of the museum's mission to bring people together through art, every class moves between the exhibitions and a working art studio.

Painting: Passports and Paintbrushes
A trip around the world without leaving Brooklyn. Young artists travel from Japan to France, looking at how artists like Araki Hirohiko and Paul Cézanne tell stories on paper and canvas, then paint characters, landscapes, and stories of their own.

Drawing: Ink Outside the Box
Learn to see like an artist. Students build a foundation in graphite, then move into ink, with gallery visits to see how artists reimagine history and create new realities.

Mentorship
Personalized, one-on-one guidance shaped entirely around the student. Mentorship is enrolling on a rolling basis, with a limited number of spots each season. It comes in two forms: for those building a portfolio, and for anyone who simply wants to go deeper.

Focused, long-form preparation for students applying to New York City's specialized visual arts schools. Together we build a strong, cohesive portfolio that meets each program's requirements, developing technical skill, a body of work, and the confidence to present it.
